Lynn Ann Bartholomew's interest in public speaking began in high school where she won district awards in public speaking competitions. She holds a BA in Speech Communication from Stetson University, DeLand, FL and has enjoyed serving as a public speaker for over 20 years. Lynn Ann thoroughly researches her topics and develops presentations that are customized to the client's industry and the audience's needs. Lynn Ann always presents tips and techniques that can be immediately applied back "on the job."
Lynn Ann is the Principal Developer of Learning LAB Associates, a consortium of professional technical writers, training program developers, and trainers who facilitate workshops in the Speak Well, Write Well, and Work Well Together Series. The Learning LAB creates a unique learning laboratory environment with true experiential learning. Each workshop delivers tips, techniques, processes, and methods in short 6-8 minute "teach pieces" immediately followed by multiple "hands-on" activities. Participants learn through "doing." Simulations, video scenarios, case studies, and practical exercises reinforce the techniques presented in the workshop.
Public Speaking Experience
Lynn Ann's engaging, dynamic presentation skills make her a frequently requested public speaker at corporate retreats, regional and national sales conferences, and professional organizations. Recent speaking engagements include presenting "Active Listening Skills - the Key to Interviewing" at the North Carolina/South Carolina Annual Society for Technical Communications (STC) 2000 Summer Conference. She presented "Manage your Time - Increase Productivity" at TXU's (Texas Utilities) 2000 annual corporate retreat and delivered "Escape the Black Hole – How to Have Effective Meetings" at the annual 2000 Bank of America Conference in Las Vegas. Recent speaking engagements include Primedia's Annual Manager's Conference and Alcatel-USA's International Human Resource Symposium. She spoke on "Active Listening Skills" at the Cedar Rapids (IA) Labor/Management Council in April 2001 and "Preventing Violence in the Workplace at the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Annual Southwest Conference in 2001. Lynn Ann presented a "Facilitation Techniques" program for the ASTD's Trainer's Day in Dallas and "Creative Telephone Selling Techniques" at KPMG's Annual Conference in Scottsdale, AZ, October 2001. Other speaking engagements include "Memory Enhancement Techniques, Manage Your Time – Manage Yourself", "Recognizing & Avoiding Sexual Harassment in the Workplace", "Five Things that Make Americans Angry & What to Do About It", and "Persuasive Sales Presentation Skills."
